<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a carbon fiber-containing silicon carbide composite expressing uniform characteristics and finally suitable for high performance optical sensors by eliminating fiber orientation of carbon fibers in the carbon fiber-containing silicon carbide composite, canceling anisotropy of the carbon fiber-containing silicon carbide composite obtained by reacting with silicon, and further obtaining physical properties of the material excellent in isotropy. <P>SOLUTION: The carbon fiber-containing silicon carbide composite is produced by a production method comprising a process of preparing a mixture by mixing a plurality of carbon fibers, carbon powder and a powdery resin, a process of preparing granulates by adding a binder to the mixture, a process of isotropically compressing the granulates, a process of raising temperature of the isotropically compressed granulates to harden the same, and a process of firing the hardened product obtained in the preceding process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
