The present description relates to a method for operating a base station for supporting a DCR mode of a terminal, comprising the following steps, when the terminal is connected to the base station: transmitting, to the terminal, a superframe header including information for indicating whether or not the network to which the base station is connected is a legacy access service network (ASN); cooperating with the terminal to perform a DCR operation for a transition of the terminal to a DCR mode; and, if the network to which the base station is connected is a legacy ASN, storing information on the contexts of the terminal.
