PURPOSE: A vehicles recognition apparatus and method are provided to specifically grasps the location of a lane using a lane model in a section in which lane well does not seen. CONSTITUTION: A video input part(100) is inputted a driving image of vehicles. A video processing part(200) extracts lane information. The lane information comprises recognition of the lane and location of the lane. The video processing part determines whether left/right side lane information is inputted or not. The video processing part renews location information of the vehicles. The video processing part determines whether a lane breakaway alarm is outputted or not. A lane breakaway alarm part is included in order to sense lane breakaway information when the lane breakaway alarm is outputted.
