<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a device, to reduce components, a mounting area and cost in a motor drive device such as a washing machine where a plurality of motors are driven by an inverter circuit. <P>SOLUTION: Motor current is detected by a shunt resistor and a current detection IC provided with a differential amplifier circuit to which negative voltage can be inputted and which can switch an amplification rate. A load relay and the amplification rate of the current detection IC are switched in accordance with the motor which a control means drives so as to perform motor control. Thus, a current detecting means can be miniaturized and it is not necessary to mount the current detecting means for every motor.
