<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle device of a machine tool capable of exerting a vibration suppression effect only when vibration can be generated during machining of a workpiece without lowering rotational speed of a spindle. <P>SOLUTION: This spindle device includes an attaching/detaching member 100 arranged between an outer peripheral surface of the spindle 20 and an inner peripheral surface of a housing 10 and provided to switch an integral state and a separation state in relation to the spindle 20 and a fluid supply device 130 for supplying fluid to a space 120b formed between the attaching member 100 and the housing 10 to interpose fluid in the space 120b.
