<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing tetrafluoropropene prepared by not using 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane ("245fa") as a starting reaction substance. <P>SOLUTION: The process for synthesis of 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene comprises steps for: reacting a compound of formula (I) X<SP POS="POST">1</SP>X<SP POS="POST">2</SP>with a compound of formula (II) CF<SB POS="POST">3</SB>CH=CH<SB POS="POST">2</SB>to produce a reaction product including a compound of formula (III) CF<SB POS="POST">3</SB>CHX<SP POS="POST">1</SP>CH<SB POS="POST">2</SB>X<SP POS="POST">2</SP>(wherein X<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and X<SP POS="POST">2</SP>are each independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, chlorine, bromine and iodine, provided that X<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and X<SP POS="POST">2</SP>are not both hydrogen); fluorinating the compound III when X<SP POS="POST">2</SP>in the formula (III) is not fluorine; and then exposing the compound of the formula (III) to reaction conditions effective for conversion into tetrafluoropropene. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
