<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latch type actuator system capable of reducing a waste of energy which normally occurs in driving an actuator armature and further extending a battery life in a system operated on a battery. <P>SOLUTION: A latch valve system 10 includes a piezoelectric transducer 44. In order to change a state of the valve, a microcontroller applies a current in a valve driver via a coil 12 of an actuator. The microcontroller continues to apply the current until the transducer output reaches a level specific to sound disturbance which normally occurs when an armature 22 of the actuator reaches the end of its stroke. At this point of time, the microcontroller stops applying the current. If none of the specific sound is generated within a predetermined period of time, a voltage multiplication circuit causes the voltage applied to the coil by the valve driver to be increased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
