<p>An image capturing unit (101) outputs n pixel signals (A01, A02, ...) with respect to each pixel row of n×m pixel units (P11, P12, ...). A reference signal supply unit (104) supplies a ramp waveform signal (RAMP). N A/D conversion units (1051, 1052, ...) convert the pixel signals (A01, A02, ...) into pixel values (D1, D2, ...) by counting the elapsed times until the signal level of the ramp waveform signal (RAMP) reaches the signal levels of the pixel signals (A01, A02, ...). A resolution control unit (107) controls the reference signal supply unit (104) such that the inclination of the ramp waveform signal (RAMP) becomes a first inclination or a second inclination steeper than the first inclination according to the inclination of the ramp waveform signal (RAMP) and the pixel values (D1, D2, ...).</p> |
