<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a railway vehicle having a structure that can sufficiently protect the cabin even when large external forces are applied to side structures. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle body of the railway vehicle is formed by joining an underframe, side structures, end structures, and a roof structure together. The lower inner surfaces of respective side posts 31 of each side structure are joined to the outer surface section of a side beam 21 of the underframe. Furthermore, a protrusion piece 21a protruding horizontally from a lower end part of the side beam 21 toward an outer side of the vehicle body is provided, and a lower end of each side post 31 is directly or indirectly joined to an upper surface section of the protrusion piece 21a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
