<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character input method capable of inputting a desired character without setting a character input mode in advance. <P>SOLUTION: The numeric key 1 is set as keys for inputting numbers or symbols, and the up and down, and right and left keys 2 are allocated as character switching keys which switch a number or symbol input by the last depression of a numeric key 1 to a character allocated to the numeric key 1 for display. If any of the up and down, and right and left keys 2 is depressed repeatedly, it switches to and displays a character selected in series or in reverse according to the number of depressions from among a plurality of characters allocated to the numeric key 1 which is last depressed. For example, the right or left cursor key is set as a key for switching kana characters allocated to the numeric key 1 which is last depressed, in series or in reverse according to the number of depressions, and the down or up cursor key is set as a key for switching alphabet characters allocated to the numeric key 1 which is last depressed, in series or in reverse according to the number of depressions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
