Disclosed is an electric shifting device for a motor vehicle, comprising a gearshift lever and a solenoid which can activate or deactivate a shifting stop for the gearshift lever. An input of the solenoid is connected to a first controllable electric switch, the control input of which is connected to a signal output of a microcontroller. Said electric shifting device is characterized in that the input of the solenoid is additionally connected to a second controllable electric switch, the control input of which is connected to a signal output of a timer module that can be triggered by an analog input signal.
