<p>Embodiments of the present invention are related to oral appliances and methods for treating sleep disorders. In one embodiment, the oral appliance (10) includes an upper housing (20) with at least one upper flange (25) and a lower housing (30) with at least one lower flange (35). The upper and lower housing are configured to releasably attach to at least a portion of the upper and lower jaw, respectively, and to engage one another to advance the lower jaw relative to the upper jaw. The oral appliance further comprises an anterior adjustment mechanism (15) coupled to the upper or lower housing and a corresponding upper or lower flange such that adjustment of the anterior adjustment mechanism adjusts the position of the upper or lower flange so as to control the degree of advancement of the lower jaw relative to the upper jaw.</p> |
