PURPOSE: A solar tracking device is provided to prevent damage to a solar cell panel by employing a wind speed sensor in order to locate the solar cell panel horizontal to the surface in case of strong wind. CONSTITUTION: A solar tracking device comprises a sunlight sensing unit(130), a wind speed sensor, an insolation tracking sensor, and a control unit(140). The sunlight sensing unit includes a solar cell panel(110) which collects sunlight and generates electricity, a tracker which is connected to the backside of the solar cell panel and regulates the angle of the solar cell panel, and a sunlight tracking sensor which is installed on the top of the solar cell panel and traces the angle of the sun. The wind speed sensor is installed around the tracker and measures the intensity of wind. The insolation tracking sensor is installed in the solar panel and measures a portion with the strongest incident sunlight. The control unit, which is embedded with program including monthly moving routes of the sun, computes various information provided from the sunlight sensing unit and the wind speed sensor and regulates the angle of the solar cell panel. |
