The method involves carrying out a position determination using a navigation system at the beginning and at the end of a construction process and deriving a current constructed distance from them taking into account the course of movement and indicating the distance. The value obtained is compared with parameters dependent on the distance, especially material consumption, and an error warning is output if there is a discrepancy.
