Modular insulation system comprising at least one insulation tile (1) comprising multiple layers, at least one of said layers being a layer of an insulating material (2), another layer being an upper surface layer (3) comprising a structural net (4) embedded in a first adhesive hardening compound, whereby the structural net (4) extends from the upper surface layer of the insulation tile (1) outside a surface area of the tile (1), thus forming protruding net parts (5), the protruding net parts (5) being capable of interacting with the upper surface layer (3) of an adjacent insulation tile (5).
