PURPOSE: A digital TV and controlling method thereof are provided to reduce consumption by using a standard mode. CONSTITUTION: An external input receiving unit(6010) transmits an external input to a main processor(6040). A tuner(6020) receives a broadcasting signal. A network interface(6030) receives a network signal. The main processor processes system information through a SI(System Information) processor(6110). In a network mode, the main processor supplies the power to the network interface. Therefore, a digital TV can be operated with the AP(Access Point) of a network even if the power off state.
