PURPOSE: A pretension girder using a strand coupler and a coupler pocket and a construction method thereof are provided to reduce construction costs by maximally using the advantage of pretension. CONSTITUTION: A construction method of a pretension girder using a strand coupler and a coupler pocket is as follows. Tension devices(100) for pretension are prepared. Strands(210), non-bonded strands(220), and coupler pockets(222) are prepared. The strands are buried in the inside a prestressed concrete girder in a longitudinal direction and apply compressive force to the girder. The non-bonded strands re connected to the strands through first couplers(211) and are coupled to the tension devices. The coupler pockets are arranged on the side or top surface of the first couplers. A form is assembled in the prepared strands. The tension devices apply tensile force to the strands. Concrete is placed in the form and is cured. The tension devices are separated from the form, and compressive force is applied to the cured concrete. The non-bonded strands are separated from the girder by separating the first couplers from the non-bonded strands. |
