PURPOSE: A three dimensional image display device and driving method thereof are provided to reduce complexity of structural alignment and complexity of driving by an N divided active retarder. CONSTITUTION: An image processing unit(120) divides an inputted 3D image into a left eye image and a right eye image. An image output unit(130) includes one polarizing film which can switch a polarizing direction. The image output unit switches the polarization direction of the polarization film. The image output unit provides a different polarization direction about the left eye image and the right eye image. A control unit(140) controls the image output unit to display the left eye image and the right eye image alternatively.
