FIELD: technological processes. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method of synthesis of tungsten carbide nanoparticles. The method includes synthesis of oxygen-containing compounds of tungsten by hydrocarbons using plasma of electric discharge. At the same time morphology of synthesised nanoparticles is controlled by pumping of a vacuum chamber to the pressure of 1.33 Pa, and its filling with an inert gas, pressure of which is 666.61-66661 Pa, prior to arc ignition, and ignition of the electric arc with a discharge current of 80-200 A, and discharge voltage of 20-30 V, between a graphite electrode and a composite electrode. The composite electrode is a graphite rod with a drilled cavity in the middle and is filled with an oxygen-containing compound of tungsten, selected from a group containing WO3, W(CO)6, besides, the mass ratio of the graphite and tungsten compound is selected at the ratio of 1:0.5 - 1:2. Maintenance of conditions for arc ignition is carried out by variation of interelectrode distance, spraying of the composite electrode in the electric arc and deposition of the produced nanoparticles to a cooled screen. ^ EFFECT: development of a method to synthesise nanoparticles of tungsten carbide that makes it possible to control morphology and composition of produced nanoparticles. ^ 2 cl, 3 dwg, 1 ex |
