FIELD: machine building. ^ SUBSTANCE: here is disclosed method for control of parametres of elements of threaded coupling and streamlined joints of pipes with application of threaded and plain gauges-rings and/or threaded and plain gauges-plugs and facilitation of control of linear distances. The method consists in joining a controlled item with the threaded gauge, in matching the controlled item with the plain gauge and determination of correctness of position of an end of the controlled item relative to measuring planes of the threaded gauge and plain gauge. The device consists of the threaded gauge-ring and gauge-plug, and also of a device for control of linear distances. The gauge-ring and/or gauge-plug are compound. The threaded gauge is equipped with guiding cylinder surface coaxial to thread. The corresponding plain gauge has a guiding element rigidly connected to it. This element interacts with guiding surface of the threaded gauge facilitating the plain gauge progressive axial and rotating motion relative to the threaded gauge. ^ EFFECT: simplified procedure for control and its upgraded accuracy due to elimination of subjective determination of controlled parametres; also, sufficiently simple design facilitating control of not only parametres of thread, but simultaneous control of packing element and its position relative to thread. ^ 7 cl, 2 dwg
