APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DE-INTERLACING

PURPOSE: A device and method for de-interlacing are provided to improve accuracy to the selection of directivity by using the filter of different size. CONSTITUTION: A weighted maximum frequency filter unit(200) amends two types of primary directivity information through weighted maximum frequency operation about an edge directivity of a center pixel and a neighbor pixel. A directivity error correction unit(300) selects high correlation among two types of secondary edge directivity information. A pixel interpolation unit(400) interpolates a pixel by average of two pixels. The two pixel is located in a final edge direction detected from the directivity error correction unit.
