PURPOSE: A diesel particulate material filter for purifying exhaust gas is provided to improve the durable quality of the filter by preventing the generation of damages such as a melting phenomenon and a cracking phenomenon. CONSTITUTION: A diesel particulate material filter for purifying exhaust gas eliminates particulate materials from exhaust gas which is exhausted from an engine. The center part(11) of the filter is relatively shorter than the edge part(13) of the filter based on a longitudinal direction. The lengths of the edge part and the center part of the filter are represented by L1 and L2, respectively. The section lengths of the edge part and the center part of the filter are represented by D1 and D2, respectively. The L2 is between 0.6L1 and 0.8L1. The D2 is between 0.4D1 and 0.7D1.
