<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a sheet from running obliquely due to torsional tension even if the torsional tension arises in the sheet when skew correction of the sheet is performed with a skew means. <P>SOLUTION: A sheet carrying device has: a first carrying means for conveying the sheet; a first guide, which is arranged downstream in the carriage direction of the first carrying means and abuts on a first side end of the carried sheet for guiding the first side end of the sheet; the skew means for conveying the sheet in an oblique direction to come closer to the first guide; a second guide, which abuts on and guides the second side end of the sheet opposite to the first side end; and a control means, which controls the second guide to move to a position adjacent to the second side end of the sheet after carrying with the skew means, while abutting the first end of the sheet against the first guide with the second guide separated from the second side end of the sheet. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
