<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biscarbazole compound especially suitable for a hole transport material of an organic EL element, and an organic EL element having high luminous efficiency and excellent durability. <P>SOLUTION: The biscarbazole compound represented by general formula (1) (wherein Ar<SP POS="POST">1</SP>-Ar<SP POS="POST">4</SP>are each independently aryl which may contain a 6C-50C substituent or heteroaryl which may contain a 4C-50C substituent; Ar<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and Ar<SP POS="POST">2</SP>, and Ar<SP POS="POST">3</SP>and Ar<SP POS="POST">4</SP>each may be mutually bonded to form a ring; R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>are each independently 1C-12C linear, branched or cyclic alkyl, phenyl which may contain a substituent, biphenyl or terphenyl; R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>-R<SP POS="POST">14</SP>are each independently a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, 1C-12C linear, branched or cyclic alkyl, 1C-12C linear, branched or cyclic alkoxy, aryl which may contain a 6C-50C substituent or heteroaryl which may contain a 4C-50C substituent; with the proviso that Ar<SP POS="POST">1</SP>-Ar<SP POS="POST">4</SP>are not carbazolyl and R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>do not contain amino as a substituent) is used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
