RECTANGULAR SECONDARY BATTERY AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rectangular secondary battery excellent in productivity and a manufacturing method thereof.

SOLUTION: The rectangular secondary battery comprises: a power generating element group 6 where a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate are disposed via a separator; an electrolyte that infiltrates into the power generating element group 6; a rectangular bottomed battery can 1 that is made of aluminum alloy and stores the power generating element group 6 and the electrolyte; and a battery lid 3 that is made of aluminum alloy and seals the opening of the battery can 1. The peripheries of the battery lid 3 and the battery can 1 are joined together. The battery can 1 and the battery lid 3 do not have a liquid injection port for injecting the electrolyte and an electrolyte injection plug for sealing the liquid injection port. Electrolyte injection is easy.
