<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical deflection element which has a reflector capable of easily achieving a large deflection angle even during low voltage driving and performs a stable operation. <P>SOLUTION: The optical deflection element 300 includes: a support substrate 301; a reflector 302; drive control sections 303a and 303b; connecting sections 308a and 308b; and permanent magnets 320a and 320b. The drive control sections 303a and 303b are arranged with the reflector 302 sandwiched therebetween, one ends of which are connected to the support substrate 301, and the other ends of which are connected to the reflector 302 through the connecting sections 308a and 308b, respectively. The reflector 302 has a reflecting surface 309 for reflecting a light beam thereon.
