<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and reasonable treating method for fluorine-containing waste water where fluorine concentration in waste water after treatment is 8 mg/L or less, which is waste water reference, the amount of fluorine containing waste is made minimum, and the number of treating agents supplied from the outside of the system is set at one. <P>SOLUTION: In this treating method for fluorine-containing waste water, basic magnesium compound 6 recirculating from a later stage is added to the fluorine-containing waste water 1 of strong acidity to neutralize it, magnesium fluoride crystal is deposited, solid-liquid separation of the magnesium fluoride crystal is carried out, and then light burned magnesia is added to the liquid whose fluorine concentration is reduced, and magnesium hydroxide is deposited.
