MULTI-METAL CATALYST AND METHOD FOR PREPARING AROMATIC ALCOHOLS USING SAME

Disclosed are a multi-metal catalyst used in the hydrogenation of aromatic esters and a method for preparing aromatic alcohols using the same. The multi-metal catalyst comprises: (a) 40 to 90 weight % of copper (Cu); (b) 5 to 40 weight % of zinc (Zn); and (c) 1 to 30 weight % of germanium (Ge), and is prepared by calcinating acetic acid copper monohydrate, acetic acid zinc dihydrate and germanium dioxide at the temperature of 200 to 700°C.
