PURPOSE: A peak-to-average power ratio reduction method, apparatus thereof, transmitter, and receiver capable of controlling receiving bit error rate performance are provided to satisfy PAPR value by controlling a parameter about a companding function. CONSTITUTION: A channel encoder(112) generates a channel code bit string by channel coding the information streams. A symbol mapper(114) generates the symbol sequence based on the channel code bit string. A serial-to-parallel converter(116) outputs symbols which are serially inputted. A reverse discrete Fourier transform unit(118) parallel outputs discrete time domain OFDM signal samples. A parallel to serial convertor(120) serially outputs OFDM signal samples. A PAPR reducing unit(122) generates the OFDM signal sample string. A CP(cyclic prefix) inserting unit(124) inserts the CP to the OFDM signal sample string. A D/A converter(126) converts the sample sequence outputted from the CP inserting unit into an analog signal. |
