<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel lid actuator which saves space and minimizes gear slide resistance. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel lid actuator 1 comprises a housing 2, a motor 3 stored in the housing 2, a worm 4 connected rotatably to an output shaft of the motor 3, and a rack member 5 which engages the worm 4 and includes a lock pin 5c for locking and unlocking a fuel lid. The worm 4 is a one-thread worm whose thread width is a pitch width of (n-1) of a multi-thread worm (the number of threads:n).
