This invention provides constructs useful for conferring upon a plant resistance to infection by geminivirus. This invention further provides transformed plants that demonstrate remarkable resistance to geminiviruses. Also provided are methods of screening constructs for a superior ability to confer virus resistance in plants transformed therewith.
