<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the erection of a side wall portion of an absorbent article from being blocked by an auxiliary absorbing tool. <P>SOLUTION: The disposable diaper 1 includes a substantially sheet-like body section, and a pair of side wall portions 311 erected on both sides of the body section. The pair of side wall portions 311 has a pair of linear break lines longitudinally extending above a rear portion of the body section. When the disposable diaper 1 is used, the break line is broken to form an opening 310a on the side wall portion 311. Rear side portions 704 on both lateral sides of the auxiliary absorption tool 7 are inserted to a pair of openings 310a formed in the pair of side wall portions 311 of the disposable diaper 1 from the lateral inside, and protruded to the outside of the pair of side wall portions 311, whereby the auxiliary absorption tool 7 is attached to the disposable diaper 1.
