<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wastewater treatment apparatus which is excellent in durability and can prevent discharge of scum having a light specific gravity and floating near the water surface. <P>SOLUTION: In the wastewater treatment apparatus 1, at least a static settling process and a discharge process are performed in a single treatment tank 2 for performing the purification treatment of wastewater, and discharge pumps 51a-51c for discharging supernatant water in the treatment tank 2 in the discharge process are provided in a plural number at different positions in the height direction of the treatment tank 2.
