METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ALIGNING PIECE OF FOOD DOUGH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for aligning pieces of food dough conveyed by a conveyor, capable of inhibiting deformation and adhesion of the food dough when the pieces of food dough are aligned in contact with aligning members.

SOLUTION: The method for aligning pieces of food dough is for aligning head portions of the pieces of food dough 1 arranged in a plurality of columns, conveyed downstream by the conveyor 3B, in straight lines L1 and L2 orthogonally crossing the conveying direction. A plurality of aligning members 27 for aligning the pieces of food dough 1 in contact corresponding to the respective columns can reciprocate in the conveying direction of the conveyor 3B and can move in the vertical direction relative to the conveyor 3B. The aligning members 27 are raised after abutting the head portions of the pieces of food dough 1 in the respective columns conveyed downstream by the conveyor 3B to the aligning members 27 corresponding to the respective columns when the aligning members 27 are moved downstream at speed smaller than the conveying speed of the conveyor 3B.
