<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger detection device of a vehicular seat capable of highly accurately detecting the presence or absence, mass or the like of a passenger seated in the vehicular seat. <P>SOLUTION: The passenger detection device includes a seat vibration detection means S1 for detecting the vibration of the vehicular seat 10, and a determination means C1 into which a detection signal from the seat vibration detection means is inputted. The seat vibration detection means is fixed to a frame of the vehicular seat. The determination means determines at least one of the presence or absence of the passenger seated in the vehicular seat, and the mass mtg of the passenger seated in the vehicular seat based on a natural frequency f0 in a no-person state and a seat frequency ftg where the natural frequency f0 in the no-person state is the natural frequency in such a state that no passenger is seated in the vehicular seat, and the seat frequency ftg is a frequency of the vehicular seat derived based on the detection signal from the seat vibration detection means S1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
