VEHICLE EXTERIOR NOISE DETECTION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle exterior noise detection device capable of precisely detecting a vehicle exterior noise in a variety of surrounding environments.

SOLUTION: A noise source detector ECU1 detects a vehicle exterior noise excluding the noise from an approaching vehicle through microphones 2A to 2G at a location short of an intersection where the noise from an approaching vehicle needs to be detected. Subsequently, a noise mixture including the noises from an approaching vehicle and other noise sources is detected at the intersection. Then, the noise from the approaching vehicle is detected by removing the noise detected at the location short of the intersection from the noise mixture.
