<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve three-dimensional error diffusion with controlled pattern noise and a pseudo shape when a screen moves largely or luminance is low. <P>SOLUTION: A three-dimensional error diffusion device comprises the following: a movement quantity calculation unit 10 which calculates a movement quantity for an attractive pixel of current frame; an average luminance calculation unit 20 which calculates average luminance of adjacent pixel region including the attractive pixel of current frame; and an image selection unit 40 which diffuses an error for the attractive pixel of current frame into at least one of current frame and next frame. For the attractive pixel of current frame, if the movement quantity calculated by the movement quantity calculation unit 10 is equal to or greater than a first prescribed value, or average luminance calculated by the average luminance calculation unit 20 is equal to or greater than a second prescribed value, the device diffuses an error for the attractive pixel of current frame into a pixel of next frame corresponding to the attractive pixel of current frame. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
