<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system with an energy-saving function capable of reducing consumption of excess power at absence. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting system 10 provided with an illumination light source 12 fitted on a desk for irradiating light on a face 2 of the desk is provided with a motion sensor 14 sensing existence of a human body in the vicinity of the desk face 2, and the illumination light source 12 is to be lit in case a human body is sensed by the motion sensor 14, and lit off in case it is not sensed.
