METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CONTRAST-IMPROVING FILM, CONTRAST-IMPROVING FILM, AND OPTICAL FILTER FOR DISPLAY INCLUDING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently manufacturing a contrast-improving film through a small number of steps.

SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a contrast-improving film includes: a step of partially removing a surface treatment layer 120 containing a compound having an anionic group and a transparent plastic substrate 110 having the surface treatment layer 120 formed on one surface thereof, to form many strip-shaped transparent plastic exposing groove portions 130 so that many strip-shaped grooves parallel with each other are formed on a surface of the surface treatment layer 120 on the transparent plastic substrate 110; a step of forming a plating catalyst layer 140 on transparent plastic surfaces of the transparent plastic exposing groove portions 130 by bringing a plating catalyst compound solution into contact with the transparent plastic substrate 110 having the transparent plastic exposing groove portions 130; and a step of forming a plating layer 150 on the plating catalyst layer 140 by electroless plating and/or electrolytic plating and providing many strip-shaped light absorbing portions on the transparent plastic substrate 110.
