ERRONEOUS INSERTION PREVENTIVE MECHANISM FOR CARD CONNECTORS AND CARD CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply structured erroneous insertion preventive mechanism for card connectors and a card connector readily reducible in cost.

SOLUTION: A card connector in which a card housing space having a card inlet/outlet is formed by a base member and a cover member comprises a guide member 25 formed of a single metal plate solidly with a cover member 12 having an upper wall 12a and left and right side walls 12b and a pair of cantilever beam-shaped leaf springs formed along the left and right side walls 12b and an erroneous insertion preventive spring plate 23 supported by the upper wall 12a and protruding toward the card housing space, wherein the erroneous insertion preventive spring plate 23 is enabled to be displaced toward the upper wall 12a of the cover member 12 by a retreat of both of paired identifying protruding parts 25c provided on the guide member 25 from the card housing space toward the left and right side walls 12b.
