<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method and apparatus which enable safe cleaning of deflector pinch rollers. <P>SOLUTION: The method for cleaning deflector pinch rollers for feeding unwound sheet steel into a manufacturing line includes: (i1) activating both a mat sensor A disposed in a working area of a worker who operates a control panel for deflector pinch rollers so as to detect the presence of the worker and a mat sensor B disposed in a working area of a worker who cleans the deflector pinch rollers so as to detect the presence of the worker; then (i2) actuating an area sensor C disposed in front of the deflector pinch rollers so as to detect entrainment of a material object about the rollers; and (ii) the area sensor C sending a signal to stop the deflector pinch rollers from rotating to the control panel when detecting entrainment of a material object about the deflector pinch rollers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
