METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REQUESTING POINT-TO-POINT PROTOCOL (PPP) DEMAND FROM PACKET DATA SERVICE NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for notifying of a packet data service network for connecting a resting network correlated to a mobile station when the mobile station moves from a first installation element of the packet data service network to a second installation element of the packet data service network.

SOLUTION: A method and an apparatus for requesting a PPP demand from the packet data service network include a mobile station constituted to transmit a start message to a packet data service node (PDSN) arriving when the mobile station is moved away from the vicinity of the other PDSN. The message notifies of a new PDSN on a new position of the mobile station and instructs both of the number of resting PPP demands correlated to the mobile station and service reference identifiers of respective PPP demands. A flag in the message may be used for instructing whether or not a PPP demand is in resting (e.g. the mobile station is in calling).
