<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print control unit that allows a user who is not accustomed to operation on an operation panel to change setting more easily. <P>SOLUTION: Among a copy mode, scan mode and fax mode, a setting mark sheet having items for an initial mode to be set at the time of power-on is printed, the completed setting mark sheet is read, the read setting mark sheet is analyzed, the setting values of target setting items are obtained in reference to a setting item table, and the setting values of the target setting items are changed to the obtained setting values.
