The control circuit (116) controls the cutting mechanism (102) to cut a wood block (120) from a log (118) longer than the predetermined length (LL) when the feed mechanism (100) has fed the log (118) for the preset length and a splitting mechanism (108) to split the wood block (120) cut from the log (118).
