The extendable, pet sanitation device is a portable device (10) for collecting pet waste, especially from dogs, and includes an ergonomically-contoured shaft (12) having a handle (16) disposed at an upper end and a circular or oval hoop (18) defining a lower end. A net (20) is attached to the hoop and depends downward therefrom. Elastic straps (24) are strategically positioned on the net (20) for securing a disposable bag (22) thereto. The contoured shaft is telescopically constructed so that it can be adjusted to accommodate a person's height.
