<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator capable of absorbing variations in dimensions of stator cores to allow an insulator to be securely fixed onto the stator core, and a method for manufacturing the stator. <P>SOLUTION: In the stator, a convex portion 87 protruding in a Z direction is formed at least on an inner wall 81 and the outer peripheral surfaces of a split core 45. From -Z side to +Z side, the split core 45, the convex portion 87, the inner wall 81, a hollow part 85, an outer wall 83, and a coil are arranged in order.
