<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique to allow a peripheral device to reestablish a logical connection with a host device even when another logical connection has been established with the host device, without a need of physical unplugging/plugging. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a peripheral device capable of data communication with a host device via either a first-type interface or a second-type interface conforming to data communication specifications which are different from each other. The peripheral device comprises a single connector capable of making an electrical connection selectively with a first-type connector or a second-type connector, and a controller which has a function to perform an initial connection process for establishing a logical connection between the peripheral device and the host device via either the first-type interface or the second-type interface. The controller also has a function to break the logical connection established by the initial connection process and subsequently establish another logical connection between the peripheral device and the host device, while still maintaining the physical connection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
