<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable for easily taking out optical fiber core wires even when a cable jacket has high hardness as a countermeasure against cicadas. <P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable 1 includes the optical fiber core wires 2 where the multiple optical fiber core wires are arranged in a row; two tension members 4 arranged in parallel by holding the optical fiber core wires 2 between them; a cable jacket 3 for integrally covering the optical fiber core wires 2 and the two tension members 4; and multiple notches 5 formed by holding the optical fiber core wires 2 between them in the longitudinal direction of the cable jacket 3. The multiple notches 5 are formed within a range narrower than a width of the row of the optical fiber core wires 2. The cable jacket 3 is constituted with a thermoplastic resin where tension strength is 15-40 MPa and Shore D hardness is HDD 50-80. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
