<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying apparatus of leather and a drying method thereof, which can substantially shorten drying time. <P>SOLUTION: The drying apparatus 1 of leather, which dries leather A by superheated steam and hot air, includes a superheated steam drying furnace 3, a hot air drying furnace 5, and a conveying means 2 continuously conveying the leather A to the superheated steam drying furnace 3 and the hot air drying furnace 5. In the superheated steam drying furnace 3, a superheated steam generating device 11 generating superheated steam in the superheated steam drying furnace 3 is provided.
