<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst temperature calculation device capable of highly accurately calculating a temperature for an electrically heated catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst temperature calculation device for detecting a catalyst resistance value Rehc during energization and calculating a catalyst temperature Tehc by using median R-T characteristics on the basis of the detected value includes a temperature estimation means S16 for estimating a catalyst temperature during an energization stop period where power conduction to a catalyst (EHC) is stopped as a learning temperature Tg on the basis of a physical amount different from the catalyst resistance value, and a resistance obtaining means S17 for instantaneously energizing during the energization stop period to obtain the detected value of the catalyst resistance at the time as a learning resistance value Rg.
